OUR FEEDBACK

WHAT OUR FRIENDS SAY

Michael – British Masters Champion and MK marathon winner

“I asked Michelle for a strength & conditioning programme as well as a ‘runners’ stretching plan for my lower back, hamstrings and glutes. I had been suffering from a very tight lumber region as well as referred pain in my hamstrings that was so debilitating that I could barely run a few hundred yards without being in agony Michelle kindly sent me an easy to follow, no nonsense plan backed up with videos as well as a ‘follow up’ to ask how things were going Within a week my referred pain had gone and I’m ready to resume running training as well as my gym work on the plan Excellent tips and a really great motivator! Thanks Michelle”

Jacki – Northamptonshire Carers dementia care advisor and group facilitator

“What can I say about Michelle Lewis except she is fabulous!! She has been delivering sit and keep fit sessions at two of our dementia activity groups for eighteen months now. Sometimes people are a bit reluctant to try something new but Michelle is fantastic at encouraging people to do just what they can comfortably. Everyone now does the exercises at home (including me) and are seeing the improvements in their fitness levels and mobility. She mixes the sessions up, giving an overall body workout and explains the importance of falls prevention and why we are doing each exercise. Lastly and most importantly she makes it fun for everyone”

Police officer who completed beep test

“I approached Michelle to prepare me for a work related fitness test that I had always struggled with but with covid and the closure of gyms I was particularly anxious about this year’s test. Michelle set me a plan for November/December which included fartlek sessions, HIIT classes and the odd rest day! With her guidance and encouragement I completed the test this year with confidence. Thank you Michelle for your help and encouragement and even making exercise fun!”

Carole – wheelchair racer

“I have attended Michelle’s Step forward with Lewis running group at both the Hill training and farklek sessions. Being a wheelchair racer she has made the sessions suitable so that I can join in as well as runners. These sessions have helped me with my overall training and Inclusive. Despite living 22 miles away it is well worth traveling to take part in the sessions. I find the mixture of abilities and inclusion great as I am treated like any of the runners. Michelle is very enthusiastic towards helping every member to achieve their potential. The group are very friendly and welcoming to all”.

Claire – Profoundly deaf

“Step Forward with Lewis is a very welcoming group that meets a [few times] a week to do ‘Fartlek’ and ‘Hill Sessions’ which have improved my running! The group is run by Michelle Lewis, who is fantastic at helping you find stamina you never knew you had! All levels/abilities are welcomed and the group caters for disabilities too – I am profoundly deaf! Michelle has learnt some basic signs to use as hand signals to let me know when to do different things (fast/slow etc) I have met some really lovely people through the group and thoroughly enjoy attending the sessions – I attend twice a week! Come along and give it a go!”

Milly – Still on medication post cancer treatment

“Would really like to recommend Michelle Lewis – Step Forward with Lewis as a personal trainer. I finished active cancer treatment 3 years ago and am still on medication, all of which has and is taking it’s toll on my body. Michelle has listened to my issues and has designed a programme to help me build up my fitness and energy levels, advising also on diet and wellbeing. It will be a long road and not an overnight success but feel sure with Michelle’s knowledge and support I will achieve the best I can be. Thank you Michelle”

Michelle – Personal training

“Michelle is a fantastic personal trainer she researched my disability and made a plan around it she really did her research the plan has really been helping me get my mojo back. she’s so motivational and encouraging and doesn’t just concentrate on your physical health your mental health is just as important to her I would highly recommend her especially if you feel that you can’t get fit because of a disability or an illness ,contact Michelle and I’m sure she will be able to help.”

Joe – 16 year old

“I have been to a couple of hills sessions and enjoyed going. I enjoy the people and the challenge that running presents both physically and mentally. I am hoping to attend a Fartlek session soon and get one under my belt. Big thank you to Michelle for making me feel so welcome.”

Laura – Personal training

“Since getting Michelle to be my personal trainer I haven’t looked back. She’s a perfect mix of motivating, friendly, supportive with a bit of taskmaster thrown in. I didn’t want someone who I’d feel intimated by because they were 20 years younger than me and a total gym nut……Michelle is incredibly fit and knows her stuff but she’s also very human and doesn’t mind saying when she’s finding weeks difficult to get motivated.. that’s precisely what I need to keep me going and she is inspiration not just during our PT sessions but in between too She doesn’t let me rest on my laurels and I know when I need to be putting extra effort in. But she also understands if you’re feeling low and she adapts whatever training is needed to fit. Embark on a fitness journey with Michelle and you won’t regret it for a second”

Kelly – Zoom workouts

“Michelle is fabulous! During lockdown we have had a workout every Wednesday through Zoom and it really has kept us going. As a group of friends who live all over the country, this has enabled us not only to see each other and catch up but to also have a great workout. The workouts are varied each week and accommodating you to your own level of fitness. Michelle talks you through the moves, and gives encouragement. Warm ups and Cool down sessions are great too. Totally recommend Step Forward with Lewis especially if you are a total beginner, very easy to follow . Get booking your class!”

Catherine – parkrunner to half marathon runner

“Amazing group run by Michelle Lewis specifically tailored to suit mixed abilities and incredibly inclusive.  Michelle helped guide my journey of over 8 stone weight loss, literally changing my life! Her passion is infectious, come along and get hooked! Fantastic way of letting off steam, getting some time to yourself, burning a few calories, and meeting a great bunch of people doing the same!”

Stu and Debbie – Facebook review

Do *not* make a false assumption at the name Bootcamp and image some heartless brute with a severe haircut trying to destroy your soul! It’s not like that! Debbie & I had a conversation with Step Forward with Lewis to explain where we were in terms of fitness (i.e. desperately unfit) and what we would like to achieve.  We had our first session last night and we loved it. Because of our previous conversation we were straight into stretches and exercises which gave us a good workout, gently challenged us but left us wanting more…next week So…talk to Step Forward with Lewis, you will have a session that is tuned to YOU (and at a very reasonable price too)”.

Rosie – Facebook review

“Just completed a HIIT 40 session with Michelle, she’s very supportive, very motivating and can tailor the sessions to your needs if you require, I was feeling very low mentally before my session but now I feel a lot better, thank you Michelle ❤️”

Michelle – Facebook review

“Michelle is so friendly and energetic. I started with a fartlek session and got hooked. I now regularly do bootcamp and hill sessions. She adapts all of her sessions to cater for different abilities. I am fitter, faster and stronger than I have been since having children.”

Peter – Ready for marathon – Facebook review

“A fantastic group run by the wonderful Michelle, caters for any level of fitness 3 times a week and as got me from my first 5km park run to running 10 half marathons with lot’s of encouragement and support.”

Tracy – Marathon runner – Facebook review

“Fab group for beginners & improvers. Michelle’s choice of locations ensure that it’s fully accessible for all & no one is left behind. Always at your own pace, with encouragement to work at your maximum effort. Such a motivational lady!

Elinor – Attends online sessions

“I’ve generally felt better for doing the classes – I found getting back to into exercise after pregnancy so tough because everything hurts so much and then I got stiff carrying the girls around. I think it’s been three years plus since I’ve done so much as 5km and now starting to feel much limber. The classes are ideal because it’s a mix of stretching and workout”

Patrick – Personal Training

“I first learnt of Michelle when she was running the village streets or doing a street dance session with the neighbours in fancy dress, all during lockdown. This gives you a very good idea of the type of fun person she is. I chose Michelle for personal training for a number of reasons. I wanted to get fit but not be too serious about it all. You have to enjoy something to want to do it after all!! Michelle has so much knowledge and she knows how to deliver it to get the best out of you. She motivates you but also understands your needs on any given day. If she can see you’re a bit under the weather she caters for that. If she knows you have a small injury she will cater for that also as well as using her exercises as a form of rehab. Why wouldn’t you use her!!?? She gives every session 100% and she expects the same from you. In 6 weeks of using Michelle I have shed the pounds and inches and my fitness levels have massively increased. I am on a fantastic journey with an incredible coach!”

Trimama – Personal Training – preparation for triathlon

“I needed some help and motivation to prepare for a triathlon. I am not a natural athlete and I chose to work with Michelle rather than a specific triathlon coach because of her holistic approach to fitness. I have worked with a triathlon PT before and their approach favoured the naturally athletic and was discouraging for where I was in my fitness journey. During the 3rd lockdown I became lazy and barely got off my sofa but Michelle helped me with the epic task of getting fit enough to run, bike and swim significant distances. One of my big problems was self belief and discipline. Michelle was kind and supportive and encouraging but she also gave me tough love when I lacked discipline and needed to push on. I moaned a lot and was not always the best student but this did not phase her she is postive and encouraging and believed in me so much that I couldn’t help but believe in myself. Whilst working with Michelle she went above and beyond to support and encourage me and I would not hesitate to recommend her.”
