What a week it’s been! With Christmas coming up fast I got the best possible present this Saturday when I completed my Level 3 Personal Training qualification.

It involved a somewhat scary trip to the gym, where I had to demonstrate my knowledge of advanced training techniques with frightening names like German Volume Training in a hypertrophic manner.

I can almost feel your excitement to give them a go coming through the computer screen!

What does all of that mean? Very simply that I am now fully qualified to do one-to-one personal training sessions and to develop individual training programmes.

I also wanted to mention the start of their coaching journey for two of our regulars. Lisa Warriner and Claire Hedges have enrolled and are now undertaking England Athletics’ Leadership in Running Fitness course.

This means that once qualified, they’ll be able to take charge of running sessions as well which will hopefully mean as we continue forwards with the Step Forward With Lewis journey that we are able to put on more sessions and help more people with their running and fitness adventures.

It’s fantastic to have the enthusiastic support that Claire, Lisa and others have given me in not only the months since I’ve made Step Forward With Lewis my livelihood, but over the years we’ve been operating as a running club.

Their official addition to the team will be fantastic for everyone.

Oh, and I’ve made Craig do the course too, so there will be plenty of opportunities to run with us in the New Year!

Of course, coronavirus still lurks round every corner and who knows what measures will be in place in early 2021. Hopefully we will be able to continue with our sessions, but even if we can’t there are plans afoot to launch our next series of Virtual Runs.

Our Christmas Rudolf and Santa Runs have proven to be extremely popular, so keep your eyes on here and our social media pages for what is coming next.

One challenge we’ll definitely be doing is a 2021, 1,000 miles medal. It’s not for the faint hearted, but if you feel you’ve got plenty of running, wheeling or walking in you then this could be the New Year challenge for you!

It just remains for me to say a huge thank you for everyone who has supported Step Forward With Lewis in our first few months as a fully-fledged company.

With lockdowns and tiers aplenty to keep us company along the way, it’s not been the easiest of times but it’s certainly been a lot of fun.

Personal training with Step Forward With Lewis:

For those interested in personal training sessions with Step Forward With Lewis we will be offering the following options.

Sessions will cost £35 each, and will each last one hour.

They can either be performed at the Step Forward With Lewis ‘garage gym’ or I can come to you.

Anyone who takes part in personal training with SFWL will be fully assessed beforehand.

If you just want individual sessions that is your choice, but to really take advantage and make the gains you want we’d suggest you sign-up to one of our fitness programmes which come at a discount and with a host of additional benefits.

ONCE A WEEK:

Sign-up to our ‘Once a Week’ plan for a month and you will get one training session per week over a four week period.

This programme also comes with a week-by-week plan, which will include advise on other training sessions for you to take part in during the week and nutritional advice.

All our clients are fully assessed in terms of their fitness, experience and medical history before any sessions take place. We believe in goal setting and will be looking at your short, medium and long-term aims.

The ‘Once a Week’ plan will cost £130 for four weeks; £10 cheaper than booking four individual sessions and with the extra benefits of a weekly plan and the setting of goals.

TWICE A WEEK:

Sign-up to our ‘Twice a Week’ plan for a month and you will get two training sessions per week over a four week period.

This programme also comes with a week-by-week plan, which will include advise on other training sessions for you to take part in during the week and nutritional advice.

All our clients are fully assessed in terms of their fitness, experience and medical history before any sessions take place. We believe in goal setting and will be looking at your short, medium and long-term aims.

The ‘Twice a Week’ plan will cost £250 for four weeks; £30 cheaper than booking eight individual sessions and with the extra benefits of a weekly plan and the setting of goals.

IT TAKES TWO BABY:

We know some of you prefer to work out with a training partner, so if you’d prefer all the benefits Step Forward With Lewis can offer through personal training but with a ‘plus one’ in place then you can take advantage of out ‘It Takes Two Baby’ package.

This programme also comes with a week-by-week plan, which will include advise on other training sessions for you both to take part in during the week and nutritional advice.

All our clients are fully assessed in terms of their fitness, experience and medical history before any sessions take place. We believe in goal setting and will be looking at your short, medium and long-term aims.

Our ‘It Takes Two Baby’ programme also comes with ‘once a week’ and ‘twice a week’ options.
