Well done Steppers! You made it to the end of another week, which can only mean one thing: It’s the weekend tomorrow!!
It’s a busy one this time round, with the Northampton 10k set to take place at Sixfields on Sunday morning. I know there are going to be lots of you there, so I’m looking forward to a sea of Step Forward green at the event.
A few of you did this one last year, so might be on the lookout for PBs but I also want to take a moment to mention the fabulous trio of Kate Periss, Helen Briggs and Becky Rawsthorne.
Kate and Becky only completed the 10k distance for the first time at the start of this month, and all of them have been showing some serious commitment to hit their self-appointed target of 100km in May.
They’re all on course to complete the challenge on Sunday in what will be their first competitive races! Go girls!
As ever, I’m sure plenty of you will be at the Racecourse – and elsewhere across the county/country – for parkrun tomorrow morning. If you are doing the Northampton run, then keep an eye out for James Thorpe who will be doing his 150th parkrun – what an achievement!

My Boxercise Belle’s were at the top of their game on Tuesday
This week my Boxercise superstars were giving it their all as ever. Just a quick note to say that next week there will not be a Thursday session due to the Jubilee celebrations, but instead the weekly session will take place on Wednesday at the same time.
If you have taken advantage of our monthly £15 for four sessions offer, but can’t make Wednesday, don’t worry I’ll roll your deal over to next week as this isn’t part of the usual schedule.
One last thing to mention: Shoes!
Some of you will know I am going to be holding shoe history tours on behalf of Northampton Museum on June 16 and July 3.
Anyone taking part will take in the sites of Northampton’s boot and shoe factories, along with some insights into the town’s most prestigious industry.
I’m really looking forward to it, and spent part of this week down at the museum swatting up on my shoe knowledge!
Be sure to spread the news to anyone you think might be interested.
