One of the newer projects Step Forward With Lewis has become involved in is Northamptonshire Sport’s Get Up & Go scheme – helping older people get and stay fit, mobile and healthy.

Since early May we have been holding sessions at Hardingstone Village Hall helping older adults improve their core strength and balance.

Our sessions are led by Michelle Lewis, who is fully trained in the OTAGO exercise programme – a world acclaimed fall prevention programme that improves strength and balance and reduces falls and fall related injuries.

The research behind OTAGO exercises shows they are proven to:

  • Reduce falls
  • Reduce injury due to falls
  • Improve balance & strength
  • Improve ability to complete everyday tasks, increase stamina, improve mood, improve confidence and independence

Get Up and Go!
