ABOUT US
Step Forward with Lewis
Step Forward with Lewis is a fitness club with a difference. We started out on our journey as a running club, catering for all abilities. Then in September 2020, we launched as a full-time business, offering everything from personal training to bootcamps, boxercise, strength and cardio sessions and HIIT, as well as our traditional hill, fartlek and running sessions. In recent years, we have diversified to hold Get Up & Go classes, working alongside Northamptonshire Sport to help boost older people’s strength and balance, easing pressure on the NHS in the process by reducing the amount of time and money spent treating older people who have falls.
From our inception as a running club, our ethos has always been based around people getting out there and covering whatever distance they want, however they can. That means we cater for runners, joggers, walkers, wheelchair users and those who are deaf and hard of hearing or visually impaired.
That attitude exists through everything we do now. We don’t care if you’re a gym buff or have barely mustered the energy to crawl out of bed for 20 years – everyone is welcome and we believe we can help anyone improve while having fun in the process. Michelle Lewis is a fully qualified personal trainer, fitness instructor and running coach, so you can guarantee the best possible advice and training.
Things do not end there though. Step Forward With Lewis produces the inspirational ‘Running Tales’ podcast and we have our own range of merchandise. We are also involved in community events, partnering with charities close to our hearts.

Our running instructors:
Step Forward With Lewis is lucky to have the backing of a dedicated group of supporters, many of whom have been with us since we started as a running club.
Two of these people – Lisa Warriner and Craig Lewis – are fully trained as England Athletics run leaders, which means we can put on more running, hill and fartlek sessions than ever before.
Keep an eye out on our Blog and our Sessions Diary for more details.
